Thai Forest monk and meditation master, Achan Niphen will lead a one-day Mahasati insight meditation retreat, on Saturday, October 14, from 9:30AM – 4:00PM at the Center for Mindfulness and Insight Meditation. Achan Niphen has been teaching insight meditation for over 25 years. He is the assistant abbot of Wat Sanamnai, in Thailand, and of our sister center in Redding, CT.
Mahasati insight meditation uses attention to the movement of the body as a way to cultivate mindfulness. Mahasati does not require the adoption of any religious beliefs, and the retreat is suitable for both new and experienced meditators. While the day will be conducted mostly in silence, there will be talks by Achan Niphen, and short discussion periods, in both the morning and afternoon. Partial attendance is OK. There is no formal charge to attend, but advance registration is requested. To register, or for more information, email Michael@MahasatiMeditation.org, or call 978-515-7648.
